Amityville: The Awakening is a horror movie that has a homeless family with no money left, a sick child, and a house full of strange phenomena. All these phenomena lead to a certain thing: Amityville.
“Amityville: The Awakening” was completed in 2014 and was due to be released in 2015, but this was postponed several times. Now the wait is over!
What is it about? In 1974, “he” killed the whole family while sleeping in a haunted house at Amityville, but 40 years later, a single mother moved along with her children to the same house.
Belle, the little sister and her twin brother, in a coma, moves into a new home. Together with their mother, Joan, they decide not to spend as much money to save for her brother’s healthcare. But when strange phenomena begin to appear in the house, including her brother’s miraculous recovery, Belle begins to suspect that her mom does not tell everything and soon she realizes they just moved in the house of the scandalous Amityville.
Let’s talk a little about the characters: Bella Thorne is a nice character with good action, giving life to emotional moments.
Jennifer Jason Leigh offers amazing performance. She was really that crazy mother who thought everything would be better in a home in Amityville. But things take a totally unexpected turn.
This movie is awesome, crazy and frightening, with some creepy moments. But, however, it’s really fun to watch if you have a movie partner to share the most “funny” sequences. In short, is not one for everyone, but if you’ve been expecting to see it for so long, you should not hesitate. Enjoy!
